As the World Turns is an American television soap opera that aired on CBS for 54 years from April 2, 1956, to September 17, 2010.
As the World Turns was the creation of Irna Phillips. As writer she favored character development and psychological realism over melodrama. Her storylines were especially notable for placing professionals - doctors, lawyers and clergy at the center of her story lines.
Could a remake be in the works or has it already happened with BYU football? This time the storyline is more melodramatic than the original soap opera. It is full of Lawyers, Clergy and Public Relations specialists.
We caught a glimpse on YouTube of how the return of the new soap opera As the World Turns Upside Down for BYU Football could look.
Meanwhile, depending on the early season ratings and results, BYU Football is producing its own soap opera. They are calling it The Young and the Retzlaff Restless Quarterbacks.
It will star McCae Hillstead, Treyson Bourguet, and incoming freshman Bear Bachmeier.
It’s too early to tell if any of the trio listed above will have enough star power to keep this soap opera and season afloat. But you can be guaranteed that they will be surrounded by one of the strongest casts of offensive and defensive players that Kalani Sitake has put on the field during his decade long BYU Cougar coaching career.
We’ve seen the previews before, but this time around we might want to pay closer attention.
