Cash Is Still King...And Finally Legal for BYU To Use in Recruiting
BYU hit the basketball recruiting jackpot when they hired Kevin Young. His plan for BYU basketball is spectacular and sensational. His concept of prepping recruits for the NBA is amazing.
That plan wouldn’t have worked a year ago.
That’s because for the last 40 years, when it came to basketball recruiting, cash was king. Especially powerful was the cash changing hands between schools and prospects.
There was no way BYU could and certainly wouldn’t compete with the cash or even the concept of player payments.
Good News! BYU is now LEGALLY in the game! The thing that has changed is the spelling. Cash is now spelled N.I.L.
Mark this year on your BYU basketball (and to a lesser extent, football) history calendar. Cash is still King and has made BYU legally competitive in basketball.
